Daniel Charles Kenney was born at Perrin Air Force Base in Sherman, Texas, on January 9, 1970, to Bud and Peggy Kenney. Danny enrolled at Texas A&M University during the summer of 1988 and started as a Stopper for the Texas A&M Men’s Soccer team from 1989 until he graduated in 1993 with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Distribution. Danny passed away in September 1999 after a tough fight with brain cancer. In 2000, Danny’s family and friends initiated the first Danny Kenny Memorial Golf Tournament. This annual fundraiser supplements the generous donations from Danny’s friends and family and has established the Texas A&M Men’s Soccer Team Memorial Endowment in honor of Daniel C. Kenney, which supports Scholarships for current club members.


Registration for the DK Golf Tournament at Briarcrest Country Club on March 28th includes the following:

  • Participation in the Daniel Kenney Memorial Golf Tournament
  • Catered breakfast and lunch on the date of the tournament
  • An official event T-shirt

Also available is access to our alumni dinner on March 27th. It is an opportunity for alumni to reconnect with their former teammates and socialize with current members of the club.
